Creative Arts

Dance, Creative Writing, Art, Vocal, & Musical Theater

Garden of Hope believes in providing children with the opportunity to practice and develop their creativity. Our creative purpose is to stimulate and engage a child’s imagination with activities such as art, dance, drama, puppetry, and music. Creative arts provide an outlet for young children to explore and gain control over their emotions and stimulates the part of the brain that controls gross motor skills. Theater, dramatic play, and role playing, are all especially suited to developing children’s emotional abilities.  We believe that creative arts engage children across all domains- including cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical.

Musical Theater & Vocal

Musical Theater is a combination of

drama and vocal. We will learn the different aspects to portray emotions and act on the spot. Learning the aesthetics of a play and fully understanding how to become a specific character will help students understand the importance of stage presence. Vocal instructions will focus on how to produce the correct notes with instruments or without music, which is called A-cappella. We will learn proper vocal terms to continue to expand vocality.
